Sony DCR-TRV280 Camcorder
|
The DCR-TRV280 is this
year’s low-class creation in the Sony Digital8 array. What it deficient
in manual control functions it makes up for in price, and what it lacks
in elegant packing it balances for simple usage. It is the only Sony
presentation that does not have a touch screen LCD; as a replacement for
control options are dispersed atop the huge frame–to the customer’s
advantage. The camcorder has not changed from its forerunner, the
DCR-TRV260 (USD544); equally have the similar massive shape and imager.

Video Performance
For the last two years
Sony has presented their DCR-TRV arrays with a 1/6” CCD & 290K effectual
pixels. Their lowest-class edition, the DCR-TRV 280, does not make
exception. The Sony DCR-TRV280 was examined at 3000 lux, the same as a
bright sunny day, and it functioned and resulted very well. The
camcorder created a picture with accuracy. Naturally, this model
functioned and resulted the same as its parent model, the DCR-TRV260.
The DCR-TRV280 does not present the touch screen menu or still features
and functions of the DCR-TRV480, but this proved to be a good decision.

Video Resolution
Imatest Digital Imaging
Software enables us to measure the accurate vertical and horizontal
resolutions of the camcorder’s video results. The DCR-TRV280 was
examined in both 4:3 and 16:9 ratio modes. This model created
approximately 242.7 lines of vertical resolution and 271.8 lines of
horizontal resolution, forming 65,965.86 lines of true resolution. In
16:9 ratio mode the camcorder produced approximately 227.8 lines of
vertical resolution and 325 lines of horizontal resolution, making
74,035 lines of actual resolution.

Ease of Use
The Easy Handy cam mode
enables the operator to give up power over to the camcorder.
This is great for learners
and point-and-shooters who wish for a straightforward shooting
experience. Automatic settings and regulations are comparatively
flawless and speedy. For the heroic hearts that wish for to manage the
excellence of their images, they can do it with relative ease. The shape
is bulky and the button position is uncomfortable, but with a little
practice the operator can manage those settings and regulations easily.
Still Features
The DCR-TRV280 doesn’t
possess at all digital still features. 640 x 480 stills must be recorded
onto tape and then shifted to a pc with software FireWire or using USB
cable.
These ports are placed
below a synthetic gray cover at the edging of the camcorder’s right. If
digital still feature and Digital8 characteristics are important to your
requirements, you should think about the DCR-TRV480.
Still Performance
Stills are recorded on
tape at mode 640 x 480 with 290K effectual pixels. To know about the
quality standards of color and sharpness you should see the video
performance review.
Low Light Performance
The
DCR-TRV280 offers 1/6” CCD with 290K effective video pixels. It was
examined in changing low light situations. At 60 lux, which is
equivalent to a literally lightened office, the camcorder captured image
was overwhelmed with a considerable quantity of grain and deadly colors.
At 15 lux the picture image exhibited too much grain with colors
becoming sluggish and jumbled. Even though this model and last year’s
DCR-TRV260 created alike images, last year’s model displayed very much
strong yellow and green shade effects whereas this one produced stronger
blue and purple effects. The DCR-TRV280 doesn’t presents manual white
balance option which cruelly delays the operator from capturing precise
quality images, particularly in low daylight.
