Hitachi DZ-GX3300A First Impressions
Camcorder Review
|
The year before year
Hitachi set itself apart from the other camcorders by offering much
better video functioning and result obtained by a bottom end DVD
camcorder. Hitachi was the first company in history to produce a DVD
camcorder, and also the first one in launching a DVD camcorder having
the power of making recordings in all four major formats: DVD-R, DVD-RW,
DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM. The Hitachi DZ-GX3300A is outfitted with a large
1/3” 3.3megapixel Charge-coupled device, dynamic accessory shoe, inbuilt
flash, a latest well-groomed body shape, and having a price tag of
USD799. |

The camera highlights
automatic controllers; navigation controls are small in size and
positioned in a less than operational system. The camcorder possesses a
2.7” wide screen Liquid crystal display, which is exceptional; with true
16:9 recording. It also possesses a 0.2” 200K color viewfinder
(electronic). On the whole, the DZ-GX3300A gives very much, though the
contest in the DVD camcorder is getting harder every year, and we are
expecting most makers will be distressed to exceed Sony’s DCR-DVD505

Video Performance
An informal judgment of
the Liquid crystal display generated images that possessed a well color
balance, although the picture, on the whole, was a slightly dull. A full
examining in the next months will be the only method to say whether this
camcorder has potential to exceed last year’s Hitachi’s. Last year
launched Hitachi camcorders made video standard that exceeded the
contest in the central and bottom-end. On the other hand, at USD799,
this camcorder should cope with Panasonic’s VDR-D250, Sony’s DCR-DVD305,
and Canon’s DC20. All of those are potential to create reasonably
impressive seeing video picture.

Low Light Performance
Last year’s product
DZ-MV780 (USD$500) developed nice color effects in low light conditions,
however the notable thing was the picture’s sharpness. Pictures were
still clearly defined at just 15 lux (that is very low light condition,
for the camcorder examining), however the color suffered, giving video
recording that was almost black and white. With the 1 1/4.5”
Charge-coupled device of the DZ-MV780 giving these performance, we
anticipate the DZ-GX3300A (along with its larger 1/3” chip) to better
this already firm functioning.
